Mitchell Field Rotary Seeks to Increase Scholarships

For over forty years, the Rotary Club of Mitchell Field (RCMF) has awarded scholarships to seniors raduating from the high schools in our service area. Each May, at the annual Student Recognition Lunch, one student each from St. Francis HS, Cudahy HS, South Milwaukee HS, Thomas More HS, Oak Creek HS and Franklin HS receives a scholarship to the college of their choice. Nearly $200,000 in awards has been given since the program began.

In honor of the Golden Anniversary of the founding of the Rotary Club of Mitchell Field we are seeking community help in an effort to increase the amount of money we award each year. We are looking to businesses and citizens in the community that believe in the power

of  an advanced education, have the means to contribute, but would like tax benefits for doing so.Charity, with all contributions made for scholarships fully deductible to the extent of tax laws.

If you have a particular fondness for one of the six high schools we serve, you can designate that school as the recipient of your contributed funds. In all cases we plan on co-branding any scholarship in the amount of $5000 or more, so that both the Rotary Club of Mitchell Field and the donor business, or individual if so desired, get recognition at our luncheon, the school’s awards ceremony, and local newspaper coverage.

For additional information on how you can contribute to the RCMF Charitable Foundation’s Scholarship Fund please contact Tom Schoenecker at 262-781-3670, or at 414-744-7547.

In 2005 we created the RCMF Charitable Foundation, Inc., which is now our conduit for fundraising and community donations. The Foundation is a 501-(c)

If you have a business that would like to help insure your industry’s continuation by contributing to a scholarship that would be specifically designated to a student who plans on continuing their education in that industry you may designate the funds to go to that type of student.
